about

I arranged this tune in the style of rubato, which translates to robbed of time. I asked the Musicians to resist time as much as possible & keep the form open & improvised. I love the freedom in this music. It represents the Spirit of this music and the Roots of Jazz. I used a Singing bowl to reflect the old school bells that you heard in the south. I also used the African ankle bells and the riveting of the Singing Bowls to reflect the sounds of the slaves hand/ankle cuffs (the sound they made as they walked cuffed together. This recording was quoted by Journalist W. Royal Stokes as a recording That should be up for an Annual Award".
